One of the quirky differences found in a Samurai is the way the headlight circuit is wired. Most post World War II vehicles have headlights that use positively-switched wiring. That means the switch that controls the headlights is inserted into the positive side of wiring circuit. The Suzuki Samurai headlights are switched through the negative side of the circuit.

Normally, the driver/owner is never aware of this unusual wiring system until he/she wants to convert to LED headlights.

In negatively-switched circuits, the current flows in the opposite direction than in a positively-switched circuit. Unfortunately, most LED lighting - including automotive LED headlights - will not work in this situation because they are polarized devices. They only light up when electrical current is flowing in the correct direction in the device.

As a result, an electrical harness equipped with current-reversing relays is used to adapt LED headlights to a negatively-switched circuit. That is what our LED headlight harness does.

Our LED headlight harness is easy to install. It mounts on the passenger-side fender. Provided fused cabling is attached to the nearby battery. The passenger side headlight socket plugs into the harness board providing high/low-beam signalling to the current reversing relays. The headlight output harness provides properly-polarized electricity to the LED headlight units (Customer provides the headlights of their choice)

The hardest part of the installation is mounting the LED headlights in the headlamp alignment buckets. The detailed instructions provided even helps you solve that problem!
